This little piggy went to market,
This little piggy stayed at home,
This little piggy had roast beef,
This little piggy had none.
And this little piggy went…
“Wee wee wee” all the way home…
Pigs & Wolf. So much easier to wrap your tongue around, rather than the longer Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf.
Or at least that’s what the owners thought anyway.
And so, the name of this pork-centric eatery is now simply, Pigs & Wolf.
And waddle over to this place you must, if you dig the pig. These fellows will definitely give you a good porking to.
The one that didn’t get away RM79
Their idiosyncratic specialties include a prodigious selection of Pork burgers, Pork steaks, Pork chops, pork ribs, pork knuckle, with equally cute names to boot.. You might want to try, the Wolf’s Favourite, the Big Bad Burger, or the One that Did Not Get Away.. and trust me, you will be Green with Envy if you don’t finish it all off with the German Style Pork Knuckle!
Wolfs favourite RM29 – a delicious creamy bacon pasta, drenched in the yolk of a singular perfectly poached egg
Mighty piggy burger RM28 & the Big bad burger RM32 – Meaty Porky burgers, with toppings that range from creamy and cheesy to barbecued and smoky
Pork steak sandwich RM35 – with a nice ratio of cartilaginous unctuous pork fat to lean meat, that would satisfy even the most critical pork enthusiast
Just another Pork Steak RM38 – Slightly overcooked and dry but I liked the pork’s sweet flavour without any sauce actually.
Snug Piggy RM39 & Green with Envy RM39
More pork chops drowning in sauces.. not a big fan of such wet pork chops.
Pork Chop with Rice 38 – this dish was too rich and creamy for me. Didn’t fancy the sauce.
The one that didn’t get away 79 (pork ribs) – thick, sticky and cloyingly sweet, fatty pork ribs, I found this too sweet for my liking.
The ribs were fall off the bone tender though, which was nice.
German style pork knuckle 98 – the meat was sweet and tender, but the crackling was hard. Not the best knuckle I have eaten. I definitely prefer the skin to be crispy instead of leathery.
This being the second month the place is up and running, in the latest eating corner of Pavilion (7th floor where the old beauty hall used to be), there are still some teething problems.
Our verdict: Come here for the tasty Pork Ribs, the Burgers, and beer on tap.
